The Nine Famous Cities of Italy

Italy is a large country in Southern Europe. The country is famous for its cuisine, luxury cars, fashion, astonishing coasts, alps and lakes. The two independent mini states are San Marino and Vatican City which is not part of the European Union, but normally a part of Schengen Region and the European Monetary Union. 1. Rome is the capital of Italy and Lazio located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula. It is the home of Roman Catholic Church. 4. Florence is famous for its architecture and art and one of these is the Michaelangelo's statue of David. It is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. The people reivented money in the form of gold florin that brought Europe repelled out of the "Dark Ages".


5. Turin is the first capital of Italy. The City is known in the aerospace and automobile industry. It is the home of 2006 Winter Olympics.


6. Bologna is the home of the first university in the western and a progressive place which is occupied by history, culture and technology. It is the capital of Emilia-Romagna which is the largest town of the reqion and believed by many Italians as the nation's food capital.


7 Genoa is the birthpalce of Columbus and jeans. It is known as the historical and wealthy city. It is also recognized as the capital of culture in 2004.


8. Pisa is the midieval maritime republic. The safe place is known for its world famous Leaning Tower. There are also many interesting sights and restaurants to visit.


9. Venice is one of the most beautiful cities of Italy. You can reach the St. Mark's Square where you can see crowded people during summer.
