It was opened in the year 1974 at the old house which was built around 1860 and was renovated for the museum's use. Because of the effort of Maria Nikolova who is an ethnographer and Assen Stoychev, an artist and Kamen Garanov, an architect, they made the museum a total success. Its collection is more on the cultural inheritance of the local people during the 19th and the 20th centuries which includes clothes, jewelry, ritual bread, “survachiki” which means unique colored folded sticks, decorated with popcorns, candies and ribbons. The children used to tap at the back of their neighbors to wish for good health, prosperity, happiness and success during the first day of New Year.
